Bought a Sako A7 today...

Thad, never met a man who didn't regret selling a rifle he liked. NEVER... buy some EEzox put it on the blued one and never worry about rust again, with EEzox you can ran the rifle in the woods close to the ocean and it would take over 2 weeks of salty air blowing over it before you start to see signs of corrosion! If you don't HAVE to sell it don't.

I like both guntech and dizzy's suggestions. First, make sure the A7 shoots to your liking. It most likely will, but just make sure. Then rebarell to .338 federal, or .308. Then put on that EEzox. I've never heard of that. I think I'll get some of that for a couple of my guns. I was out in wet sleet which turned to big heavy snow earlier in October. That night I took my gun [x-bolt composite stalker] apart and wiped it down. I already found some tiny oxidation marks. Glad I didn't wait until morning to do the wipe-down. Some of that EEzox may be a good idea.

You will regret selling it, keep it. I like guntech's suggestion, re-barrel to .338 Federal. Hummmmmm, got me thinking............

You could likely trade it for a .338 FED in the EE and it won't cost you anything.
A T3 would be the last rifle I would spend $$ on for a custom barrel, when you can buy one in that cal for $750.

I would trade or sell the T3.

If you really wanted to keep it you can set one up as a varmint gun with its light bullet load and target scope. The other as a Deer gun with heavier bullets. Each one sighted in properly and ready to go. Just an idea.

I have so many calibres right now I think selling it may be best after all the advice here. Have somebody interested already.

Unless you need the money keep it for a while. Based on a couple of somewhat expensive lessons I don't get rid of a gun until I've determined I prefer its replacement.

Sold it this morning thanks for all the input. A7 shoots and feels great at the range, will try it out in the field tomorrow and Monday.

im looking for more threads on the A7's, but have had alot of troubles with the magazine for my 300win mag. The original one i received with the gun would not accept bullets loaded to the max industry length, or even slightly under it. In other words i could not load winchester supreme 180's in my mag. Also, it would eject all the cartriges from the magazine when you attempted to fit the mag to the gun. forget even thinking about loading the mag into the gun when it is anything but straight up and down, and you would be lucky to get it right half the time at best. I cant understand how everyone in the gun industry hasnt informed consumers about this, because berretta blackmails them into only saying nice things about their guns or else? Its time for some honesty! I have finally been shipped another from stoeger, and i am hoping it is just the wrong magazine! not even close.. see my thread about stoeger canada for details.

i would try to sell mine if i had a mag for it or they were even available! I dont see why i should take a loss at all on this gun, it is basically brand new and hasn't functioned as advertised or like anyone in there right mind would assume. I want a full refund! Or a magazine that accepts industry standard cartriges, and doesnt eject them all over them place if you look at it wrong!

never ever sell gun if you don't have to! keep as many as you can. if you aren't in need of it at the moment, gentley work it into the back row of the safe, let her stand there and rest, you will no doubt someday wanna hug her again. been there done that, many a time! also still kick'en my own hiney for selling a bunch! take a lesson from an old dude! keep all you can!

I would post pictures but I figure everyone knows what it looks like,I put a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 DOA on it. My problem now is do I sell my Tikka T3 Hunter(Bushnell 3200 Elite 3-9x40) which is also in .243 win or keep both? There is nothing wrong with the Tikka at all, my reason for wanting a stainless synthetic is the weather we have during hunting season. I am always worried about it after a hunt and go to great pains to make sure it is dry. If I keep both will I actually use them? Tikka for dry days:confused:, Sako for wet ones? I don`t know I also may be full of s**t and just cannot get enough guns:eek: I did want a lighter rifle but figured they were all to much more money. Seriously though your collective thoughts on keeping both or selling T3.

thad

You'll end up shooting the one that is most accurate all of the time, then you will sell the other. FS
