I just emailed them this afternoon to see how much a Rockwell 50 hardened sight pusher blade costs & shipping to Canada.
Why would one want a hardened pusher? I would think the pusher should be softer than the sight so as to not dent the sight? ?? Who cares if the pusher gets marred?
OK, I see your concern. There is an inch of big threads there, so it would take a lot to strip them.
I just used it to break loose the rear sight on some CAnAm 1911s. Those suckers are in super tight. I suspect they are inserted with a ram of some kind. they popped loose with an audible snap.
A finer pitch thread might be more at risk of stripping.
But, when you use the tool to remove rear sights, you then have to screw the pusher all the way back to the other side for the next one. A fine pitch would take a lot of screwing. Slow. I found it slow even with the course pitch.
