Bought a used Henry .22. Lots of pics

Man that turned out real nice. Congratz on the shooter, it's yours now.

That looks VERY nice all polished up....

And secondly... I'm jealous. There I said it... I am DYING to get my hands on a lever .22.....

Do you mind if I ask what you paid (ballpark even) for one in used condition like that?

Have fun with it!

Thank you!
You just had to ask, didn't you? Lol. Honestly I'm embarrassed to say how much I paid for it. I knew when I bought it that it was way overpriced. But I'm impatient and impulsive, a deadly combination.

I know how that goes... Some times the extra money is WORTH walking out the door with it in your hands... I did it With my Browning shotgun... Coulda waited for a certain big box store to "bring one in" but I think I would be still waiting on it... I paid $70 more elsewhere, and walked out the door grinning ear to ear... Sometimes you just gotta pay to play...

You only go 'round once

Exactly! I dont regret it. I knew how much they sell for new, well before I bought this one. He said it only had 100 rounds through it, and I believe him. The bore is in excellent shape as well with the rest of the gun. Plus he seemed like a real strait shooter........ Pun intended

I thought I only had 3 holes, so took the cover off to make sure. Attached pics of the right and left side below

Ordered my sights from HiViz online yesterday. Got carried away and ordered some sights for my Ruger 22/45 and Glock 34 as well. Surprisingly the website let me order $178.15 total with $22.10 shipping. Just got the order confirmation email this morning. Wonder why they don't make me split up my orders to be less than $100 for ITAR controlled items like Brownells does. Guess we'll see in a week or so if the package actually arrives.

Have you taken your reciever cover off before? Can you tell me if it has the same holes mine dose?

The ITAR/BATF limits are on companies that have not taken the time and paid the fees to process the proper registration for exportation of their products... most have not done so, they don't see a big export market (I think they have missed the boat)... some companies have completed registration and can export domestic firearms related products.

Where did you get the brasslite receiver cover from??? I bought two on a group buy from Andy Wickstrom CEO for Henry Wisconsin... I have them on my Frontier LR and Frontier WMR... but I would like another one for my LR Mare's Leg (that I added a youth buttstock on)... should have bought more when I had the chance...

" Cabela's has had them continuously in stock for...ever."

Then howcum I had to order one in?
Got a call yesterday that it was in, now I need a chance to go to Edmo to pick it up.

What material is that>? Just plain steel? Or?

It's aluminum

Thanks for the pic. It appears I got a extra half a hole in mine.

It's the origional reciever cover. I just stripped off the paint and polished it.

Nice piece I love mine.

Thank you!

what did you use to stripe the paint.. i would love to do this to mine as i have already scratched that black paint.

I cant remember the brand. It was just paint stripper in a spray can. Just have to be sure it's safe for aluminum.

You've been looking for a while and couldn't find one? You're in Alberta? Cabela's has had the continuously in stock for...ever. P&D has them....

Oh well. I have just been asking at the shops I go to regularly . I never looked online. From what I was told from the clerks at the gun stores is the Henry factory was flooded and they had no idea of when they'll be seeing some come in.

it looked like a brasslite cover in the pictures... it is not aluminum though... it is a zinc alloy called zamac.

Looks good... I have two brasslite sets on Frontiers and two GB's... looking for one more set.

No kidding eh. It sure looked like aluminum.
I think the reflection of my cabnet in that picture is what made it look like brass.
Do you have any pics of you henry with the brasslite receiver?
