Bought another rifle. PICS

I have always wanted a Lever action rifle of my own. So today at WSS I bought a BLR 81 LW (light weight). I chose the 7mm08, naturally. There was a stainless steel/laminate which tempted me, but after some consideration I chose the blued/walnut.

I have not shot it yet and will do so in a few weeks, hopefully bagging a good sized buck in the process.

Nice BLR... always thought the 7mm-08 would be perfect on that platform. Only BLR's I've ever had were in .308 Win... wish I'd kept my last one, flush mag version...

2 for now. a bolt and a lever. I have a 1.5-6 power bushnell from another rifle I could put on it. The open sights might not be so good in low light situations...

with a 1:91/2 twist which hand loads should I begin with? 120grn,140grn, 160grn??

probably gonna buy some cheapo amoo just to break it in.

The 1:9.5 twist is the same as your 200, I'd try the same loads and see how they treat ya. http://www.savagearms.com/st_200short.htm
