bought my first gun!

I'm getting the .40S&W P229 in a couple of weeks so you can definitely buy one. Check out http://www.p-d-ent.com/pages/firearms.html
.. they're selling P229s with a slightly longer barrel to make it legal.

I think the slide is made of a different material between the 226 and 229... there might be other differences...

I had a chance to hold the P229 and really liked the feel of it ... can't wait to try it out at the range. :rockOn:

Great info, nice site. Looks like I'm gonna have to save my penny's while I'm waiting for that R-PAL to show up (just passed the course today, and will be sending the upgrade request in this week).

What is the difference between the 226 and the 229? I've gone to the SIG site, but am not familliar enough with semi-auto handguns to know the slight nuances that make that difference.

<drool> Gotta love those semi's! For a long while I was fence sitting between the Glock 35 and the Sig 226 or 229 in .40 S&W. This photo helps me make up my mind. Gotta have that Sig!!!!
