Hey Leroy
I own a Mosquito as well and I am quite happy with the gun. It DOES work with cheap ammo as well. The best and only rounds I use are Remington Thunderbolts. I get bricks (500 rounds) of it at my local store for just over $20.00. That's $2.00/box and the gun will fire and cycle them 99% of the time. AND I'm using the heavier recoil spring on them as well.
The bullets are lead and the powder burn's a little "dirty", so you will need to keep the gun fairly clean and run a metal brush throught the bore every couple of cleanings as it will lead up.
Don't get discouraged! You are going the exact same route as me. My second handgun just arrived and it's a S&W M&P9 and it's an awesome gun too!
Let me know if you have any more questions!
I started with airguns and then got a 9mm as my first handgun. .22 wasn't much different from an airgun for me too... But several handguns later I ended up buying a .22 pistol. Why? to same money on ammo; shooting centerfires gets expensive! Plus .22 is good to go back to the basics and relearn a few things if you pick up some bad habits along the way![]()
about the Mosquito I don't own one but the one I've shot was pretty unreliable (even with mini-mags) it would jam every few rounds....
LJ so did you shoot yours?
