Bought my first Milsurp!

I am honoured to be the first to congratulate you on your first fall down the mountain.

You will look back on this day and say "there was the first step into the hole I am in today......but it was the best thing I could have ever done."

First milsurp

Yep, I recall saying "I'd like a MKIII to honour my Grandfather who served in WWI and my Dad who fought through Italy and carried No.4 (as well as a Thompson). Many years later and probably 100+ milsurps bought, sold and kept, I can tell you there is no looking back.

started with a type 1 mark 3..... got a ross for cheap...... got a type 38 coming soon to match my bayonet...... t-33 is looking good......
 
one of two things will happen now..you will either get addicted and have to buy one of each plus all the dies and stuff to load em up and shoot like crazy or you just might hate it. but it could be the beginning of lots more guns
 
Today

That looks nice. I don't need it, but I can afford it and it will make me feel good. It's the last I'll buy.

A couple of weeks later.....

That one looks nice too and I don't have a bolt action yet. It stretches me a bit financially, but it's a good investment.

A couple of months later.......

I better buy an 8 gun cabinet to store my 6 guns, I can't have them just sitting around - they'll be my retirement money some day. When it's full I'll stop.
I can stop, I just choose not to.

After Eight Months...

I need to get into reloading and casting as these guns must be shot and it saves money.

A year later......

I've gotten good at sneaking guns into the house and hiding the expenses. I better build a room to store them.

Years later....

I'm not going to live forever. I better start getting rid of guns. Where to start? I'll do it tomorrow.

Absolute Truth has never been explained in simpler terms. I am now at the "a year later" stage :D
 
Hmm, this is not good. Apparently I'm only at the 8 month stage. Why is my progress so slow, I feel so inadequate now. I know I'll go buy another gun that will make me feel better.

That's hilarious! I've done all but the reloading and, er..the last one in 8 months. Particularly the "a year later scenario" and the panic selling when I see my visa bill. HaHa.. Does that make me "advanced"...?

Just got in a nice 1942 LB all matching including the mag. Mk1 rear sight, front sight protector, and mag all C broad arrow and LB stamped... If I tried to explain my excitement anywhere else I would just get blank stares.

Bring a lunch when you go to shoot your ljungman. You will need it on your way out to pick up the fired cases! Speaking from experience!
the only thing that kept the empties from making it to the next state was the berm on each side of the firing line:D
However it is dead accurate. set the sight at 1 for 100 yds and it shot the centre out of the target!

I bought my first one 'for my Dad - it's dated when he was in the army' can't say that about my most recent one, he wasn't born in 1918, but my great uncle joined the army that year :D
