Bought my first revolver today!

Congrats! That's an excellent choice for a revolver--first or otherwise. You'll have to post some pictures once you get it!

That's one of those "can't possibly go wrong" choices in life. Might as well start at the top of the revolver world...

Thank you for the responses, yeah I thought about for a week, saw the 586 and thought about it all week.Went to the gun store today bought it with no regrets.
 
Update

Finally took my 586 to the range on Monday, and OMG I can't believe how much I really enjoyed shooting this revolver! Accurate and handles very well. I own auto pistols as well but this one is already a favourite:)

You will find it rather boring after a while as these revolvers are just too damn accurate. Popping off 6 shots into the size of a looney gets old fast.
