You didnt consider your 303 sporter a "real" hunting rifle?
I guess it depends what you are hunting. For moose I will take the heavier slower 303 bullet over the fast skinny 270 bullet anytime.If you are talking about open country deer ,sheep, goat ect then ya the 270 is the way to go.I consider my enfield sporter 303's "real" hunting rifles just as much as my remington 700 and Husky 4100.

True. I wont argue that!! My enfield is awesome. But it is a milsurp. I certainly don't mean it's not up for the job by any stretch. It was designed to kill germans. My new gun was designed to kill game.
