Bought used CZ 527 7.62 and stock started to crack...

I just bought a new one of these. Looks like they were generous with the inletting as there’s a fair bit of clearance where yours split.

I haven’t shot it yet, is it worth getting bedded still? I don’t see how it could crack at that point the way it’s inletted now

Let me bring this to my GS and I will update with the result.

CZ put bottom of the barrel walnut on these, improperly cured and improperly inletted. Quality went down compared to the old 527. Usually a bedding job is all that is required to avoid the problem though.
Still, killing that line was probably the last nail in CZ's coffin.

I'll try and get a pic of the inlet under the recoil lug tomorrow, they changed it up a bit there. This one is a 2020 and the tang had good clearance. I'd hate for this one to crack.

Now I am going to have to have a good look at mine. Thanks for the heads up - guess I will be learning more about inletting and bedding now.
 
New ones have these little plastic blocks behind the recoil lug embedded in the stock, I guess it's to prevent wood compression there that would lead to cracks.

here is mine. I decided to bed it myself.
I trimmed the left and right bits which are sticking out. later will trim the tang area.
Then bed it using epoxy.

 
Update: the crack I had on my stock is only on the surface. I sanded it down a bit and it was gone. I also trimmed a bit more space like the new one. Next step is to bed it. Not sure if I want to bed the rear. I was thinking just bed the front recoil lug.

It does not seem that the surface crack was due to recoil. There was enough space at the tang. It may be a crack at the grain that occurred naturally.
