bow hunting or target practise.

I do alot of bowhunting. Your question has WAY to many answers. What are you hunting? How old are you(for draw weight), do you just want to extend your hunting season? or are you gonna doing this full time, and go all out? budget? experience with bows?

I too hunt with a bow, although I am not as sucessful with it as Kirby, I still have fun. I really enjoy 3D competition which also helps with the whole hunting thing.

Personally I'd stick with a compound bow. Pull as much weight as you can comfortably shoot. If you can handle 60-70 lbs then go for it, most Provinces have a minimum draw weight and in B.C. its 40 lbs for deer. As far as distances it all depends on how much you practice and what your comfortable with and the size of the animal.

The bow is just a fraction of the whole package the slightest little thing can throw you or your bow off so I can't stress the "Practice" part of bow hunting, you have to prove to yourself that your confident in your archery abilities. The last thing you want to be doing is tracking a poorly shot animal for miles and miles. Guessing yardage is perhaps one of the most important things with bow hunting, the margin for error between a good kill shot and missing the target completely isn't that much.

Like Kirby said we need more info on you, especially your arm span from the tip of your middle finger on each hand. And how strong you are?

Well i have a switchback 27" draw 70lb pull i just started a week and a half a go and i started to do 2" groups at 20yr with the help of good friends, but would like to go further, what is a good way to practise (drills etc...).

Ive got a PCE Nova
with it set at 60-65lb draw.

Can't hit a damn thing with it lol. i just need practise thought. No matter what bow you get you REALLY have to practise to get accurate with it.

I think my draw length is to long for me though. how do you tell what the appropriate length should be?
