Bow Hunting

I pretty much bought a bow to extend my deer season and to hunt sundays! It is indeed quite the challange. I havnt shot enough things with the rifle to make me want to use the bow exclusively, but that day may come. Taking anything with a bow is a real Accomplishment, Although to many people think they are the ultimate bowhunter and wound/lost more game then they consume. If your going to bow hunt, Practise. You just can't bust out the bow the day before hunting season, sight it in and then go hunting! Garenteed to be more successful if you shoot year around, too bad more people dont do this.

Just got my new APA Mamba X1 form Lane Archery in Lethbridge. Denis and Cheryl are great people. The bow was a gift from my Dad, with a QAD Ultra Pro Drop away rest, and a Spott-Hogg SDP sight. I just added the Doinker A-Bomb today, and I am impressed. I have a 440gr arrow launching at 310fps. I can't even believe how much penetration this bow is going to get. (75# bow and 30.5" draw)
I have pins out to 90yds on this bow (the first pin is out to 30yds. I am 1 1/2" high at 10 and 20 with a dead hold at 30yds), and the tech allows descent accuracy out to that range (I'm more for the good practice and form building out that far). Prairie Mule Deer and Foothills Elk drive my passion for the bow. I can't get enough of trying to sneak close. The real trick is getting close enough for a comfortable shot on an unaware animal.
I'm going to start looking into traditional recurve next year.
