Boxing Day Double

Have you tried 55 gr B/T's? just curious as to your thoughts on bullet weight at long range.

Havent tried the Noslers, but have shot a few groups with the 58 gr Hornady Vmax. They shot ok but no better than the 70 gr NBT, so I went with the heavier bullet. I might switch to the 58's later this winter, we'll see :D So far, the 70 grain has been great

well, it sure looks cool :D Im sure it will help more times than not, and its very light so packing it around isnt much of a hassle

The J.I.B. looks like a good enticer ... but like robo-duks, I would guess it needs to be used judiciously ... a "last moment closer" just to rivet their attention.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Noslers in my 25 ... give them a whirl
and let us know how they work out.

good story.......especially nice to read for guys like me who don't have a lot of time to get out and nail 'yotes...we have to live vicariously at times:) The 243 is a great 'yote round...

I'm very interested in the fact that the 70gr Ballistic Tip didn't exit...exactly where was the 'yote hit?...I have a bunch loaded up for a 243 that I just screwed together last week..might get out a bit next weekend and try them out.

Awesome story. I'm now itching to go for yotes. I haven't gone for yotes in about 5 years. Time to get out the old gear and tape up my rifle. yeehaw! I just e-mailed your story to my Dad in Sudbury. We used to hunt for yotes in the old days. He's a legend but I've only ever taken one with my wife's .260 about 7 years ago.

Nice shootin Tod!
If it helps you guy's, I've been using the 55gr Nosler, but in a 6mm Rem.
I have only tried one load in it which shot MOA while I sighted in the rifle. Haven't the time to play with alot of targets anymore.
I shot one yote boxing day at 310 yards while he was at a full run, broadside and hit him high in the back, entrance wound was about two inches wide, quite a mess but it hit him in the spine so no suprise. Bullet did not exit.
Later in the afternoon, another one showed up but way down the field, I guessed to be 600 yards away. I had Nugget call the shot in case I didn't see it, my three foot hold over was perfect but I hit five feet to the left. Maybe it was me but I was laying prone. I'd say there was some wind drift but it is hard to say how much crosswind there was across that kind of range.
