Boxing Week Sale!!!

Real glad I got a Backpacker free with a Boxing Day order over $500.00 before they were gone. I tore it apart and gave it a thorough cleaning because it felt gritty in the hinge once clean it is super smooth and will close really easily and smoothly with a light flick of the wrist.
Really very impressed with it over all but can anybody give me feedback on whether the protrusion inside the barrel where the bead sight is attached makes it unsafe to shoot and if safe to shoot should I stick to the 3"specified on the barrel?

No safety issue to shooting it. Worst case scenario would be the bead sight might come off one day while shooting it. You could always file it down if you wanted. As for 3" - that's just the maximum size you can shoot. Feel free to save your money and shoulder by buying 2.75" shells.

Dear Bandicoot,

Thanks for the feedback friend. I have lots of 2 3/4" so that is good. How does one file that bead sight protrusion down with out damaging the barrel? You say it is safe to shoot, even with slugs with that protrusion?

Ordered myself a CZ75 SP-01 Shadow, a 12.5" Grizzly barrel for my 870, and a box of DA small pistol primers to hit the magic $1K mark to get my free Outlaw. ;)

Anyone have any experience with the DA primers? I've never used them before.

I found mine shot a little high with slugs and it also had the bead protruding into the barrel a bit. The protrusion has now been shot smooth, so there isn't a worry about shooting it with slugs the way it is. However, as it does shoot high, if I were to turn back time I would remove the bead from the barrel, add Loctite (red) and reinstall the bead so it doesn't protrude. (Taller sight)

Both my sights on 2 different Backpackers were protruding into the barrel so I removed them, reinstalled with lock tight, then filed smooth with a round chainsaw file.

I see the bead is threaded, what would be the best tool to loosen that bead with? Forceps? Pliers? Tweezers? I will give that a whirl before I fire it and hopefully it shoots flat.

Thanks Canada Ammo, my first online firearms order, looking forward to doing further business with you... Looking forward to getting some ammo for my new P226 22lr...
