Hello all.

I am doing a little research on a possible replacement for a tupperware stock on a new Savage 10FP.

Wondering what peoples experiences are with the quality of Boyd's rifle stocks.

don't hesitate if you are going to order one as the waiting period is in my case up to six months, check there site and see what they have in stock and then go from there.
 
Got one on a 223 heavy barrel and have to say that I am very happy with it.
Everyone that has seen it is very impressed with the quality and no one could believe the value for the dollar spent.

It has been the only time I have gone "cheap" on something gun related and come away happy with the end result.

The stock is light years ahead of your FP Tupperware.
Tactical fit could be a bit of a problem though you could sand the stock to shape and then camo paint it .

+1 i too have to wait up to 6 months for my stock, i don't know if i can wait till sept. :mad:
 
They are pretty good, check out rifle-stocks dot calm. They have a better selection, options, and comparable prices and they will ship here.
 
boyds issues

I own a few of these stocks. All are the varmit thumbhole. I am very happy with them. The only issue that I have found is that you are restricted to the diameter of barrells that you can use with them due to the rather narrow top. My fix is to use fiberglass to expand the forend and do a paint job to cover up the mod. I am presently doing this so that I can put my 308 into one for my "tactical" rifle. As to time delay, I have recieved my stocks within 5 weeks so far.
 
There is a SA Choate sniper stock in the exchange right now for a good price. Worth a try, you may like it, resell if you don't. I have no idea who recoveryarms2 is btw.
