Boyds and Canada Post

How do you spell North America Free Trade Agreement?

It's a handling fee and GST....not duty. Duty went out the window on most American manufactured products but that's it. Before the days of Free Trade there would have likely been an additional 20-30% tariff on the stock as well.

Customs and taxes on items coming into the country, all you are doing is paying your brokerage fees to CP . depending on the items they can really hurt ,I paid 14 dollars on a shirt for my wife , the shirt was about 12 bucks lol. some items are worth bringing in and paying duty others (often small low dollar items that don't meet the exemptions ) can be frustrating at best .

The HST is always 13%, duty is not charged on American made items, there is a single $10 fee per package for brokering (up from a $5 fee in 2012).

About 5yrs. ago I ordered an emblem from the states that cost $15. dollars US, by the time they converted the money to CDN, brokerage fees, duties, taxes, courier fees etc., all said and done to get it in my hand cost me $72 bucks. That cured me on ordering anything more from the states.

Maybe I'm just lucky but I have never paid for anything that I have received from the postal service. I use to have 2 or 3 packages of car parts a week come for me and was never charged a penny. In August I ordered almost $1000 or reloading equipment and didn't have to pay anything.
