Hello everyone. I wasn't sure where to post this. I'm wondering if anyone has ordered any Boyd's Pro Varmint stock for their CZ 455 rimfire rifle, either in a .22LR, or .17 HMR / 22 Magnum. I found the Boyds stock configuration page that shows the following: (I can't post the URL to link directly to this product on Boyd's site. But here's the identical stock from Brownells: https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-parts/rifle-stocks/cz-455-pro-varmint-bull-barrel-prod129525.aspx

Question: Does anyone know if these models are milled to accommodate the wider magazine of a .17 HMR or 22 WMR magazine?

Boyd's doesn't go into detail regarding this, and even when I called, they had no measurement to clarify my question. As most of you know, the CZ 455's barrels are interchangeable, and CZ provides a magazine well insert with their barrel conversion kits, in order to accommodate the smaller .22LR magazine — if you're replacing the stock 22 WMR or 17 HMR barrel with a 22LR barrel.

Does anyone know if the Boyd's rimfire pro varmint models have a magazine well milled large enough to fit my .17 HMR heavy barreled action?

Or will my gunsmith have to route the magazine well wider (front to back) to fit my .17 HMR magazine?

Much thanks for any info you can provide.

All CZ 457 barreled actions in .22LR, .17HMR and .22WMR will fit the same stock. The .22LR barreled actions come with a magazine well adapter or filler so that the smaller .22LR magazine will work just as the magnum rimfire magazines.

Thanks for the info guys. So if I understand correctly, if I order a Boyds Pro Varmint stock, for with the heavy varmint barrel channel, my CZ 455 barrel/action will fit, and the magazine will fit into the well just as it does on the factory CZ stock? Again, thanks

Thanks Grain and grauhanen RE Boyds VS Richards Microfit

I may just stick with the Boyds for ease. I don't mind finishing a Richard's Microfit over the winter, but I've heard some horror stories about what people actually receive once they've ordered.

Do you guys have any experience with Richard's Microfit stocks?
