Looking for opinions on Boyd's stocks for a hunting rifle. I really like the looks of the Prarie Hunter stock. I'm wondering how you guys like the fit and finish and weight of these or their other offerings for a hunting rifle. Just bought a Savage 111 in 7mm Mag and I'm considering something from Boyd's to jazz it up a bit. Also, any issues with their detachable magazine models?

Post up your opinions and pics if you have some.

There was some pictures of a P-14 mounted in one in the gunsmithing forum, I think Im actually gonna order one in the forest camo with the pachamyer this week, only thing is it wouldnt process my order on their website so Ill call them tuesday I think.

About 95% of the reviews say their actions drop in and fit great.

I really like the forest camo as well. That would be my choice if I order one. Either that or the pepper.

I had one for aa Rem 1903 A3 and it was a nice stock. My only complaint would be the hockey puck recoil pad that is standard on them. I would opt for the upgrade if I was buying one again,

I'm surprised they don't offer them inletted for Tikka T3's yet

I put my Stevens 200 .243 in a Boyd's classic pepper laminate.

Econo rifle topped with econo Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12x40mm AO....

Still haven't had the time to go beyond that, though.... [testing, load work-up] etc....

I had to fit the trigger guard into the bottom of the stock with a little dremel work & sanding but otherwise happy with the fit & finish.

[Stock is actually for the Savage 10/110 series with no bottom metal, hence the minor fitting for the Stevens action parts].

Im looking at picking at a stock for my stevens as well. Dont know if Ill be able to get that this year or not...

What I would like to do it get a uninletted Blaster stock and find someone who can do some work on it to make it fit. Just an idea though. :)

Have put them on Remingtons and Weatherby's.

Fit is good, finish is good, comfort is good, no complaints at all.price is good also.

I have made small changes to some rifles which required some inletting but no issues with the product itself.

I also rock a Savage .204 with Boyd's thumbhole. It's a little heavy for long hikes but I love the way it shoots from prone and standing, have one on my MKII as well. I will probably never switch back to a normal stock because the thumbhole just feels too natural after shooting with it. Almost just like an extension of my arm. Have tried shooting normal rifles since and they just feel strange...

Beautiful rifles, guys. I'm getting a lot of mixed info from other sites, though. Are Boyd's stocks available for detachable box magazines as a drop in, or do you still have to do your own inletting to maintain the magazine? I'd like to have one, but only if I can keep the DBM.

They have improved their designs and final work , typically just drop in and go now.

What rifle are you thinking of restocking?
