Boyds M1A stocks on sale!

i think they started doing that as a way to prevent over selling runs. Which is a good thing as I figure they are making sure they have the stock you ordered before charging you for it automatically at the checkout.

That's pretty a fairly uncanadian thing to do in the gun industry, but I guess these are coming from the USA

I got one last year, decent stocks, minimum fitting for the Norks. Shipping is like $50US so be prepared for that lol.

Wow that's nice looking! Do you find it helped accuracy at all??

I should have ordered two just because. Shipping would have been identical whether I ordered two or one

"I have one on a norc and I notice the buttstock is wider than the norc buttstock plate. Not a big deal but is it just that the Norinco buttstock plate is too narrow? Will a plate from a us parts kit fit better? I haven’t found anything in the sticky’s.
The stock itself is a beauty. Sale or not, I will be fitting one to my other Norinco."

There is nothing wrong with your Norc butt plate. As you point out, these are thick beefy stocks. They are very wide in the buttstock (for no reason), thick in the wrist and wide in the forestock. The thickness in the forestock provides dimensional stiffness for better accuracy, especially once bedded. Also the Boyds M1A and the Boyds M14 slim cut are essentially the same stock. I have held both in my hands and they feel like 2X4s. I grant that they are good looking and functional for bench shooting but they are not graceful like a USGI wooden stock. To each his own.

I would post pictures of what I have described but I no longer have any Boyds products. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to post.

Maybe tightened things up a bit... I had already shimmed the gas cylinder and re-aligned the oprod guide. With this stock I did the accuracy "mods" around the gas cylinder/ferrel/handguard so it could be partly that. Feels softer shooting in the wood vs the Nork plastic.
