Boyds rifle stocks?

I have dozens... they are the best bang for your buck in an aftermarket stock... you won't be disappointed.

There is tons of threads out there and in this forum, there are almost as many people who own them and really like them, then there are folks who understand the search function I suspect.

I just got my first Boyds Laminate Thumbhole stock yesterday. The quality was better than expected, especially for 151.00 USD to my front door. Replaces the plastic stock on my Weatherby Hog Reaper that wasn't free floated. Mines the pepper finish, with a cpl of extra layers of clear coat done at home.
Cheers
Jerad

Boyd's stocks....

Classic pepper laminate on my Stevens 200 .243 Win:

NAA.

Which stock is that on your Ruger? Sure looks good.

Looks like the boyds with the engraving option.

One thing to clarify, Boyds customer service kind of sucks, I ordered one and they got the options wrong, I really liked it, but it wasn't as i ordered it, the gave the butt pad instead of the engraving.

I've ordered several without issue. Did you bring it to their attention? How did they deal with it?

Getting the wrong stock is hardly a customer service issue, it would be a QC issue. How they handle their mistakes is where customer service comes into the picture.

Any time I have had a problem Boyd's fixed it fast... recently they sent the wrong stock... I called and they reshipped (a custom stock)... but when the second one arrived, it turned out that they had replaced the wrong one from a multiple stock order... I called again, and within a week the correct custom stock arrived... that is fast and excellent service... they didn't even want the first stocks back and apologized for their error... considering the thousands of stocks they ship every week, they make very few errors.... I have been dealing with them for years and am a very satisfied customer... but they are a very busy company.

I never bothered calling them, at the time there was a couple threads complaining about there customer service, there was some folks that said they had a hard time sorting out there issues, I hardly cared, and the rifle in question was sold a while ago. Here it is below in a .303 P-14:

These are my latest two from boyd's both have the lazer scale instead of checkering or stippling. It provides good grip and alleviates what was their big weakness ( slippery when wet) Otherwise they are a really nice and well thought out stock. These are both prarie hunters with a nice length forestock which allows you to wrap your sling and still rest on your bag or sticks and enough room to protect your thumb from bopping you in the nose from recoil off the bench.

I really like my Nutmeg Boyds stock on my Ruger M77 Tang Saftey, 25-06

What model of Boyds' is that? Nice looking rig btw

Wow, they sure like nice...wondering, do you think I'd be better off going for a T3 laminate, or buying a synthetic T3 and swapping out for a Boyd's? Also, anyone ever seen these? https://tikkaperformance.com/tikka-t3-hunter-stock

That's certainly a cheaper alternative to finding/ordering a factory Tikka Stock at $650

I have 1 on a marlin 60 and it fit perfect so I ordered for my Remington 7400 and had issues with the for end. First shot it split in half. I contacted Boyds and they had discontinued them and offered to take the for end back but would take the but stock back. I kept it and after hours of gluing back together, fiberglassing to strengthen it and dremmeling for the perfect fit it now works perfectly. I do really like their stocks, they just came out with those for ends at that time and I guess just didn't have them figured out yet.
