Hopefully this is the correct forum for this question.

I am looking for a butt stock for an 1895G (JM stamped, approximately 20 years old). The tang width measurements do not match the stocks on the Boyd's website. Does anyone know when the changed would have happened? I figured all years of manufacture would have the same design and I'm hoping, somehow, the Boyd's website is wrong and I can find a replacement stock for my rifle.

Are Boyd’s tang measurements narrower than what yours are? If so that’s probably because the tang inletting has to be fitted to your peticular tang as that is where the recoil hits.
If Boyd’s measurements are wider- then SOL keep looking.

That makes the Boyd’s stock 1/8 undersized which is pretty much standard practice in stock inletting and need filing and sanding to get proper fit. Any aftermarket stock isn’t a
‘drop in and go’, maybe plastic or carbon composite might be I don’t know.
