Yes it was a lowel...it was posted by slowpoke55..then he removed it.
Lowels are a much nicer piece, or so I think.

This thread reminds me of the sporterization of Lee-Engfields that occured while I was growing up.
Ironic that years later people are now looking for military stocks to convert them back to "war issue".
I was thinking of converting my Mosin to a sporter - your pictures have convinced me that the time is right - Its a nice looking rifle with the stock.

Got it today!! Damn it looks good, Its going on my polish m44 (its beat up, Ive already changed the sites, and had a stock repair) Need to do some work at the rear of the trigger assembly, but other than that..... And I may even be able to keep the bayonet on...lol, well maybe, we'll see when I compare it at the range. If it shoots better with it , its staying....
