Has anyone ordered a Boyds stock and used something other than the only shipping option they give you?

All they seem to offer is "USPS Priority International" at $46.45. Just thought they might offer USPS ground or something little less expensive.

I've emailed them but I don't imagine I'll hear from them until at least Monday so I figured I'd pose the question here in the meantime...

There is no other more economical usps option with tracking that is why they use it. Not saying 46 is correct but it will not be far off. Just check the rate on the usps site that will tell you. There had not been usps ground to canada for probally 10 years now. There is a 1st class international option up to 4 pounds but it has no tracking so most US companies will not use it.

I purchased three stocks from them last year and all came USPS under the $20.00 mark. Can't put my hands on the invoices right now but $46.25 price seems a tad excessive.

I have ordered dozens of stocks from Boyd's and their shipping has ALWAYS been excessive... approximately $45 per.... (never $20, as stated above) and they have ALWAYS shipped via USPS/to Canada Post... but considering the great products and prices it is still a great deal... I have voiced displeasure at the excessive shipping cost but they don't seem inclined to change it...and inspite of this, I will still be buying more Boyd's stocks in the future.

Make sure it isn't UPS as them pricks do charge a hidden "brokerage fee" you will get a month latter for some twit looking at your PKG...........Harold

I just checked ten invoices... they were all $37.95 to $43.90 for shipping.

Most single stocks were billed $39.80 for shipping to Canada.

I wanted to order one for my 700 but with the checkering it put the bill over $99 and they simply won't/can't ship orders to Canada over that amount. Sucks! anyone ever come up with a work around for this?

The limit has changed to $500... it is going to take some time for the regulations to be ammended and for the companies that export products to get "up to speed."

Actually I don't think the limit has actually changed.. It has been proposed.. But It hasn't changed yet..

I spoke with someone there a couple weeks ago and there limit was 99 at that time. He did mention something coming that might change that. glad to hear it could change. I think I'm going to hold off until then myself so I can get the checkering done there

Man, having the limit upped from $100 to $500 would be great, of course if that happens my wallet is going to get a lot lighter. :)

The differences in shipping costs that have been reported probably comes down to where you are in the country.
I believe Boyd's is in the eastern US, so shipping to eastern Canada is going to be cheaper than shipping to BC.

i ordered a stock a while ago. shipping was in the mid 30s. but i had then ship it to package express just across the border. i drove across and picked it up and brought it back. that was how i got away from the 99$ limit. but then about a week later i get e-mailed a invoice for 8.20$ for additional shipping cost. pissied me off and i was not happy with the service to be honest. but after all the work it took to get it here it was a well made product and all said and done it was cheeper then anything i can get on this side on the border.
