Boyd's Stocks?

Don't think theres a distributor but I know of member's who have ordered directly from them with success. I think the rule of thumb is under $100 and preferably not labeled as GUN ACCESSORY. The boyd's stocks are sweet. Get them if you can.

They will even tell you over the phone it has to be less than a $100.00. I just got two unfinished Garand stocks last week.....I am happy with them.

They do seem to be a great deal, less than $100 (US) for a laminated stock that looks much better than GI Fibreglass but should perform as well for civie use.Handguards available too. Now if the boat would just arrive from China with the metal part of the equation!
Bits of Pieces (Dealer in BC) brought a few of them into Canada in the past. He said that we would have better luck doing what we are doing right now. He mentioned that their Customer Service to dealers like himself was gawdawful and he had a poor impression with their sales practices (or something like that).
So keep on doing what we are doing and buy them one at a time from Boyd's. I've been super happy with their M1 Coffee laminated Garand stock sets, unfinished of course. Just a great product. Very meaty stock, lots of material to work with. So tight to seat the barreled reciever into their stock you would think that glass bedding was not necessary.

I can second that. We were all set to distribute their products in Canada a couple years ago. Once the dust settled they were giving us about a 10% discount over the personal orders, and this was on large orders of a couple hundred stocks. We walked away. Which is too bad because they make nice stuff.
Need Swivel and other advice....

Looking for a swivel rail adapter and did a search on ebay to no avail. It seems like Fulton Armoury is the only one that carries it. I've read that they will not ship to Canada ? Any other source ?
Problem # 2 - I lost my rear swivel when I removed the buttplate. Again, Ebay to no avail, not on brownells either.. getting a bit frustrating.
Hungry here: rear sling swivel ? I've got a spare and a long screw to match it.
Problem #3 - How do I remove the metal inside my Norc to place it on the Boyd stock. The two round metal on the side of the stock is very hard. Are they screws or do I just tap it out. If I am watching Hungry's video right, I need a stock liner tool. Any tip on the poor man's approach ?
Hungry here: yes, make your own out of circlip pliers found at Cambodian Tire. I bought a tool, but Brownell's has a hex drive (drill adapter) in their catalog for this purpose. Might not fit the Kommunist Chinese screw hole spacing. That's my only fear. I ground down a pair of needle nose pliers found at the Dollar Store many years ago. Seems to have done the trick.

Hungry here: If you cannot pry it out... BURN the fzcken Kommunist stock and salvage the metal. You will not be the first to ever do this.... I'm serious. Retighten with JB Weld. Permanent fix, on your new stock.
My computer will not work with Flash or Active 8, downloading the springfield manual is useless. Anybody help if you have a PDF file ....

Find an old screwdriver, and file a notch out of the blade to make your own stock liner tool.....works like a charm. Needle nose plyers will work also, but I have scratched some stock liner screws,

I swapped out my banana wood to the Boyd's walnut yesterday andit was actually a piece of cake. I used the tips of the needlenose pliers to unscrew the cross bolts (thank you CGNers for the tip!). Then used a bit of wood and a hammer to lightly tap the metal liner into the new stock.
Used a screwdriver to recover the metal from the tip of the stock. Just sort of prised it off without damaging it and then retightened it on the new stock with the needlenose (is there anything they can't do?).
It looks and feels like a million bucks! Will post pics when I get home.
Question: Like the gentlemen above I now have no sling. The front swivel is riveted onto the banana wood stock. Is there anywhere to get a new front swivel???

I ordered a stock set for a Win 86 on Jan 4 and they said then it would be 10 weeks so I called today and was told another 9 months min ,cancled my order.I'm not waiting 9 months for anything.I'll never think of dealing with them again.
