Ordered a #102 Classic in grade A English walnut from Richard's last October 31st. I received it January 31st. Ebony tip and grip cap, 1/2" pad, and a 1/2" barrel channel.
Opposite of Boyd's. I spent half of Saturday fitting the bottom metal and the remainder of the weekend opening the barrel channel and fitting the action. I estimate that I probably have another month of fumbling around, shaping the forend, grip, butt... I'm going to have to pick up a rasp because there is quite a bit of extra wood (close to 3/8" in some locations).
Definitely not a "sand and finish" job - more like chapter 25 from Roy Dunlap's "Gunsmithing" book. I'm not cheesed - it will be a good winter project. But for anyone who thinks they are getting a stock that is anything more than roughly shaped, they are in for a surprise.
