So how would one go about ordering an unfinished stock from Boyds for an M14? It's not in their online listings. I've tried contacting them multiple times via email, but receive no response.

Wait until they go on sale then they will ship up here. Should be a sale around July 4th holiday.

Boyds is so stupid to sell that stock for over $100 ??? They would sell a #### load to Canada if they were priced under $100 all the time, everyone should Email the crap out of them and call too.. OP if you dont already know US dealers can't ship any gun parts over $100 out of the USA so you have to wait for the stock to go on sale so its under the $100 regulation ..

just looked at their site and cant find a unfinished M1A stock ?? only the finished stock for 104.00 USD

you won't see unfinished stocks until they go on sale. They are not flexible on the $ 104 price. I don't think they are too concerned about losing a few sales in Canada. They can't produce enough now.

Bet they sell a hundred stateside for every one stock here even if we all ordered. There are a lot more customers down there, and the extra $4.01 per stock over $99.99 obviously earns them more money in the end than $99.99 and Canadian orders. Blame the US government, not Boyds.

Maybe someone can explain to me why McMillan can ship $900 USMC spec M-40 stocks to Canada, but Boyds cannot ship a $150 M-14 stock. Plainly there is some paperwork that McMillan knows how to do...

This is my first purchase from the States gun-wise, so I have next to no idea what regulations Boyds is subject to. I reviewed their store policies and found the $100 dollar limitation there, until that I wasn't even aware of it. I'm a little disappointed, as I have been looking for an affordable unfinished walnut stock to work on. I understand there are some Canadian retailers who sell walnut M14 stocks from time to time... Does anybody know of a company in Canada I could look at?

Thanks for all the info. :D

Some of the stuff is ITAR,and some of the stuff is US legislation. It is not Boyd's fault the States has some sill gun laws on exporting certain items. Boyds sells most of thier M1A stocks to SA inc.

Didnt think anyone said it was boyds fault. Just saying that other places sell stuff for more then the $100. Im sure boyds could too if they filled out the paperwork for it. Pretty lame that we cant buy the m1a stock because its $104.

I found these on the Internet. Thoughts?

There is a company in Manitoba which stocks (or did) Boyds stocks. I can not remember the name but got it from Boyds asking who stocked their stuff in Canada. These were finished and not cheap. Email Boyds and ask who the Canadian dealer is...
Cheers

I assume there must be some kind of customs paperwork waiver if the value of the item being shipped is less than $100.
It's the only thing that could explain the $100 limit.

One thing I can say about boyd's, I have bought paid for and received all in very prompt order!!! well over 10 stocks and they always are very good to deal with! Never ever an issue, they will get my business everytime they have something I want and I have done two M14's in their full wood M1a stocks they are very nice stocks but they are big! be prepared to do a lot of sanding although the actual fit for the action is spot on right out of the gate! its just slimming of outside wood I am talking about, so don't waste money on a finished one unless you like fat stocks :)
The only thing I can say bad about Boyd's is there are never enough of the stocks you want and you have to be patient and snap them up when they become available not when you need them!

I clicked on the "Add to cart" button at the Sportsmansguide.ca site, and they said that it could not be shipped internationally.

As for GunPartsCorp, I tried to order that stock from them, and they told me that they could not export M14 parts. :(

This is getting frustrating, because I really want a wood stock for my Norinco M305.

Thanks to everybody for all the info. :) I guess I'll attempt to wait patiently for their 4th of July sale, and check their site religiously in the meantime.
