Boys Anti Tank Rifle with Pics (Ordnance Tan???)

How is the project going? I'm looking for some shootable ammo for my Boys and accesories like the 22 sub cal kit and cleaning kit. Where are you getting yours?

I saw two of the 22 Sub Cal kits at the gun show last weekend ($225 each) and a Boys ammo display box from the factory (diorama of a Boys round penetrating Armour). Sadly I didn't get a card but I have seen the seller at a few Edmonton shows.

I have the Bolt, but am now waiting for my Boys Barrel (slow import from the US).

I tracked down some vintage ammo (which I won't shoot), a working mag and some new ammo from Australia. Between Import/Export fees/costs, each round is going to cost me close to the cost of original rounds. As a result I might scale back my order, keep some rounds and the Boys barrel and go for the 50 Cal conversion.

Sadly a divorce hasn't helped either, but it is still mine...the rifle that is.

At one time I had a brass or bronze dummy round for one of these; don't know if it was locally made or not, but it was turned from a solid bar.

In the last week or so I came across a 1940 press photo (egypt) that showed a running soldier with a painted boys tank rifle. Even at that time the paint was flaking off rather heavily. I suspect that the field applied paint adhered to wooden parts better than the metal.

If your rifle could talk :)
