Boys Rifle MK1 Ammo Can

Just picked this up at a yard sale. I have never seen one like this before.

"...a yard sale..." The stuff that's sitting attics and basements is amazing. That's a box for magazines as opposed to ammo in boxes. There were suchthing for BREN mags too.

Hmmm. No seal@ the lid!? I thought all ammo cans (boxed mag cans) were sealed.

They are sealed with a oiled strip of felt, attached to the lid.

Actually maybe not that can, the bren gun mag ammo can did have the felt seal. That one does not appears to have the same lip and top. I may be wrong.

I know most ammo cans have rubber seals, but this is just a can for the magazines. I don't know if magazine cans usually have seals?

Heck if you don't need the can, I have a Boys AT rifle that needs a partner (just PM).

These mag chests were rather on the cheap side as mag chests go. There was no provision for a seal on the lids.

All the chests I have seen of this type were C/l\ marked.
