Every week when I go to the range I seem to be going through 50-100 rounds of 45-70. That equals time at the loading bench that I don't always have. I'm still using my old brass muzzleloader powder dispenser to measure 65gn. volume of Goex FFG then pour it through a 24" drop tube. I'm thinking that a BP dispenser might speed things up. What is the favorite setup of the BP'ers. A Lyman, Hornady,etc. The Buffalo Arms catalog has some very expensive powder throwers made by Companies I've never heard of. I've no idea if they're worth the money. All comments/experience appreciated. :)
 
you definitely do not want to use one the standard smokeless powder dispensers; they get black powder dust in the seam around the rotating drum and with time will rust.
I use a cartridge case trimmed to hold the amount that I want to put in the shell and pour it down the drop tube. In my case this is a shortened 38-56 shell with notches filed into the rim so that I can recognize it. Obviously I use it for loading 38-56 shells.
