What kind off velocities are you getting with your Black Powder Rifle? Are the 28" barrels that Im seeing making that much of a difference?

I ran some balls from a Lyman Deerstalker 24" barrel over the crono.
80g Pyrodex RS---1612 fps---.495 round ball
80g Goex 2f---1470----.495 round ball
80g of Elephant 2f---1420 --.495 round ball
90g of Goex 2f---1376--245g Bal-et

I have not done any others, but plan on running some balls from my .54 Trade rifle next summer.

If you are asking about an inline, I see velocities in excess of 2200 FPS out of mine with a 250 grain bullet.

I get about 1800 with a .54 roundball from my great plains.
