I have 2 BPS's, a Stalker 12g I won NIB in 2007 and an engraved Hunter made in 91 (just purchased for my son, history unknown, used but in VG condition).
The Stalker is easy to "quick load." Flip it upside down in the left hand, push the fore-end 1/4" forward with the thumb of the left hand, the carrier drops (actually rises to the top of the receiver), drop a shell in and close the action. Slick as anything.
I used to have a Hunter (bought new in 87 or 88, kept for 3 years) that was the same.
The new-to-us 91 hunter requires a firm push down with the nose of the shell. It doesn't move on its own.
I've taken the gun apart and cleaned and lubed. The carrier seems a snug fit in receiver so I polished it with a stone. No better. Guess I should pull the carrier out of the Stalker and try it in the Hunter.
Any other thoughts, or should I just polish the outsides of the carrier and the inside of the receiver until it moves freely?
Thanks for any suggestions.
