Brake clean and CZ 512

Hey there fellas, I was cleaning my CZ 512 today The same way I clean all my firearms brake clean, scrub with wire brush, compressed air and lube.
CZ apparently used a cheaper plastic for the magwell as the brake clean started to brake down the plastic... I caught it before it did any real damage.
Just a heads up for any other CZ 512 owners when cleaning with brake clean or aggressive thinners remove the magwell before cleaning.
 
Not to sure it's the same brake clean I've used on all my guns and car parts....the bottom half of the 512 is plastic and no effect on any of the parts just the magwell.
 
Hopefully it's fairly neutralized. I just sprayed some WD40 in the action of mine with the rifle inverted till it ran clear while moving the action. Let it dry and sprayed in some G96 used it a bit and just repeat the same process with some swabs and rags pushed in there to take out what gunk it can.

I wouldn't use break cleaner on anything but a heavy cosmolined milsurp. New rifles are not built near as tough as those for WW2 etc...
My main issue with my CZ512 22lr is that there is a special tire tool used to place the springs into the action that is required to do it or it's a royal Pita.... I got mine 2nd hand perfect but didnt get the tool only to find out about it later. This is only the 22lr version not the 22wm which has this little tool, inquired with wolverine but they cant seem to order them on their own.

You must have a first gen 512 all the newer ones like mine only have one spring and one op rod... I've never seen the older version but I was thinking while I was cleaning mine wow this is a super simple action lol sorry about your luck lol

Hmm I didnt know there was a different non watchmaker version. I jury rigged a coat hanger into shape of what I think the fool should look like. It worked the 1 time I had to use it. It's a fantastic little rifle very handy for plinking and as a camp gun to bring out in the summer or for small game.
 
I've noticed chlorinated brake clean has a strong obvious odour and actually burns the skin a little if you touch it and non chlirinated has a less potent aroma more like alcohol and seems to be safer on plastics and finishes. It doesnt burn the skin at all either. I would still proceed with caution either way when trying on a new material.
