Brake size question

I'm thinking about getting a roedale precision brake for a .308 win. I'm pretty sure I need the one that fits bullets up to 8mm/.30 cal. Just wanting to make sure.

Well you definitely want one bigger than .223, that's for sure

if the 223 one is cheaper, why not mount that, and then use the first shot or two of 308 to bore it out?
