Ruger in recent years has put muzzle brakes on rifles in calibres of their own genesis that were meant to be modern "solutions" to imaginary 'problems' involving superb generations-proven cartridges, in the process creating calibres no-one needed and few enough wanted combined with real problems in their own rifles. Hence the muzzle brakes on there (and the fact that Ruger is going down the tubes?)
