I'm sure this has been posted many times before but I thought I'd show my results.
The numbers below the targets are the distance the bullet is from the lands.
The last two groups are identical loads; one fired with the brake installed the other without the brake.
The POI shifted without but, for all intents and purposes, the groups were identical.
All five shot groups at 100 yds.

I've found the same thing with brakes most of the time. Don't really change the accuracy but will effect POI sometimes.

Always important to check zero if removing a brake prior to hunting.

Kool BUT you have to shoot a few more groups to PROVE out a theory any way - as 3 groups prove really Nothing !

My son's 6mm ARC (18" Proof Research Sendero Lite) hits 5moa lower with the brake on. That would of been with the Insite Heathen, haven't tried the new MDT Hunt Brake yet - it's much lighter

This is a new build. So far I've fired 16 five shot groups with three different powders and four different bullets. The average of those 16 groups is 0.66". That's not bad for a hunting rifle that weighs just over 8 pounds scoped and a mediocre shooter! JMHO

Anything touching the barrel will change harmonics of it, which in turn will change POI, accuracy etc. Whether that be a brake, magnetospeed, the stock, even your hand by accident will change everything up.

As Prosper said, that's why I've never been a fan of Magnetospeed. I ran one for a couple years, always had to test loads with it on and then without it. The amount of times a load would shoot 0.5 MOA or better with it on, take it off and double check that same load still shoots good and it went to a 1+MOA group was real frustrating.

I found that a carbon barrel was much more susceptible to POI shift due to weight on the end of the barrel than a steel barrel. I found there POI shift was double that of the steel barrel with the same weight.

I put a brake on an m305/m14 and by it luck tightened the groups. I am thinking the heavy brake on a light barrel just happened to slow or time the vibrations more optimally.

That manbunner don’t need no brake.
Iff’in it’s thuh kewl kawncept yer after, sticker in yer pawkitt.
When sumone ne’ers, skewer awn fur thuh kewl aspeck.

That middle targit is a gooder.

Brake that bun! Love being able to stay in the scope, see shots impact, and easier to shoot always means shooting better in the field.

Unless you hunt from a benchrest I guess.
