Bran Spanking NOOB Those all AR type restricted ?

Well The robinson is Awsome , but first it's twice the price of the Norinco and Even if I wanted a Robinson they are not Available. Summer almost over soon range will be closing for winter.
gotta make a move and have fun

Grab a can of Duracoat from Fabsports and a cheapo compressor from Crappy Tire and you'll have a $1700 finish on your $900 AR with a little effort.

Hmmm... I already have a 13G air compressor and decent HVLP spray gun. I used this system to spray automotive paint on DIY speaker boxes. Stupid question, do I need to strip paint on Norc M4 first entirely to spray on duracoat? Hmmm.. After taking a look at fabsports. I hope I do i right first time since 4oz of paint @ $20 shooting out of HVLP spray gun is not a whole lot of paint. To make my HVLP work well, I think it needs to be adjusted just right. Bye bye 1 oz... and good setting would eat it up in no time.

Stripping paint is not a necessity - Duracoat will go over damn near anything as long as it's been degreased properly. However, for best results you may want to strip as much of the original paint as possible. Check out this thread for more info:

I keep hearing all this talk about the Tavor. Couple of questions:
1. Since it is non restricted, will it have a super long barral like the non restricted XCR? And who here in Canada is selling the Tavor? Thanks

As a automotive painter I would use 3m Scotch Brite and some Pre Kleeno before appling paint. Doing a small surface test is a good ideal also

I lucked out on mine the finnish was very good . I have seen picks of some that are not but like you said nothing a little paint job can't fix .

The barrel is long 18.7 inches but because its a bullpup the overall length of the rifle is less than 30 inches. When I sit it next to my AR with a 14.5" barrel with the buttstock fully retracted its actually an inch shorter than the AR. Second Canadaammo.com is selling the Tavor.

Looking at the brochure, barrel length is ~18" (depending on model) and total length is ~28.5"

Take note, the mag is behind the trigger and barrel kinda goes into the stock.

Take a look at this video. This is what actually sold me but I cannot afford it right now. LOL! Best of all, it's non-restricted and I still cannot believe how it ended up that way. :)

Geez buddy, give it a rest already.

The guy is asking about AR15s...

We all know you have a hard-on for your Robinson.

Re-read post #1, he's looking for a NON-restricted. Your AR-15, nice as it is, doesn't fit the requirements.

I know what I said earlier about the TAVOR .
this vid just changed my Mind

WOW

but

WOW
also on the price , wife is gonna kill me , Do you this price will go down ?

Yup... insane assult rifle and an insane price too. :-( I have no idea if price will go down or up. It's currently on hold to fix some issues.

Glad to have provided some insight about this rifle (not sure what you said about the Tavor before video). I'm kind of annoyed that I finally decided to youtube Tavor (I think I saw this rifle on TV some years ago too (same video) but thought it was really cool but none of us could ever dream of owning. Now, this darn thread made me want to go buy Chinese AR again and I will this time around. Doh!

Also, for those on a budget, look into an Ar180b, mines treated me well, and it's only around $1200. Unfortunately they've been discontinued :bsFlag:, so you'll have to pick one up used.

I've got an XR-15CQBR. Somewhat costly, but a finely tuned machine of war! Comes with an immaculate bolt of likes I've never seen (which nearly made me weep after all the years I've witness abused and battered C7 bolts). Every part on the rifle was made and assembled at the same Sabre Defense factory. Sadly the parent company of Sabre Defense Industries won't sell to Canada, but lucky us their UK branch will! Plus mine has a shorty barrel with threaded muzzle (for milspec flash suppressors).

When I finally decided it was time to own a 5.56 rifle myself, I had originally decided to buy the Type 97 from CanAm (because of decent price and I've always like the bullpup concept). However considering they've been in limbo for a long long time, I inevitably lost patience and decided instead to go with a weapon system I'm familiar with and am able to promptly acquire. The T97 is still on my list, but will be for a later date. For now, my XR subcarbine has filled the acquisition desire nicely. So far I've fired 300 rds through it without error. Granted, was not 300 rds consecutively over short period of time so not exactly a great stress test, but for just a basic range shoot it performed remarkably. Some day soon I'll give it an adquate stress test and let you guys know the results (if interested). Just gotta acquire more mags (damnit)!
