Brand new .223 available in Canada - NS with FRT

Is it certain it's a MR1 clone? From pics I thought it could be as well, but haven't seen one taken apart yet.
It certainly looks like it, I’d be willing to bet it’s a copy. I can’t see them using the form of the MR1 and then tossing a different gas system in it, but I could be wrong. Just think of the turksh1t M4 clones, they use a similar gas system to the real benelli product.

It’s close, but not quite. The MR1 has its barrel attached to the upper receiver.

Green or NDP,,,that's funny right there, single digits polling,LOL..they have ZERO chance,,same as always,
It's a protest vote at best in most ridings... some people have a real issue with not voting or spoiling their ballot.

It's hard to get inside the head of the more extreme progressives, the fact many of them will be voting for a Billionaire Finance Banker with zero charm and warmth is astonishing but only goes to show how deluded and fully captured many people are by their chosen political identity/ideology.

I hate to be that guy, but I ordered on the 3rd, it's now the 14th and I don't have a shipping notification.

Edit: actually it’s not that bad, they aren’t even open today.

I’ll continue to use my ACME Roadrunner decoy, a length of rope over a tree, and a suspended grand-piano to catch the coyote.

That is, until the government decides “nobody Canadian needs a grand-piano”.

The one advantage the MR1 has over this is that the barrel is attached to the upper receiver when it’s removed for cleaning.

I would expect this rifle to maintain nero when assembled and disassembled. It’s probably why the stated accuracy is 2”.

It is now the only game in town, so I’m not regretting my purchase.

I’m surprised to see they aren’t selling well. Then again, it’s not anywhere near my first choice. This thing truly is a cope rifle. 🤷‍♂️

I have four Troy PAR’s that I bought because they are fun, I bought them way before this Liberal 💩.

I wouldn’t give this thing a second look if anything else was available.
Is this new rifle a piston gun because the MR1 is a piston gun.

Looks somewhat similar when comparing Ian's Forgotten Weapons tear down of the MR1 and an assembly video for the Akdas.

Ian mentions Benelli intended the MR1 to be an AR-15 for those who don't like AR-15's, and the Akdas goes even further down the path, removing the pistol grip and forward Picatinny rails and adding a wood handguard and stock for the full hunting rifle style.

Very interesting. Looks like they separated the receiver from the barrel like Jeff said, and also went from using a Benelli shotgun style recoil system in the stock to one under the barrel, more like various gas shotguns use.
You can put a regular Comfortech stock on a MR1 to make it look more Canada friendly, but obviously the black plastic was too scary.

So I quickly went to the range to shoot some rounds. This is 10 rounds at 50 yards. Full disclosure, I just used the iron sights and the eyes are getting really bad, but I am pleased with the results.

Only downside I can complain on is that the barrel gets hot after 20-30 rounds

Move that front sight back and thread that barrel.
They probably want to avoid having threaded barrels, lest it look too tactical. Is having the barrel threaded within the ability of local gunsmiths at a reasonable cost? The barrel is easily removable for transport, so you don't even have to bring the whole firearm in.

That looks good.

I can’t hit a darn thing with my eyes. They’re not even that old but my astigmatism is awful.

Mine shipped today, so I’ll be making expectant glances into my mailbox early next week.

It takes me an hour to drive to the post office, since the nearest town shut theirs down for an inability to keep it staffed. Living in the boonies is still better than a city tho.

Shortening the barrel, threading and re installing the front sight has cost me around $250 in the past.

I'm curious to see picture of the stocks - the three on display at the Kamloops Gun Show were not as nice as the online images posted.

Already voted last weekend at my local election centre!
I live in a Conservative strong hold. Lib and NDP’ers don’t even try 😂

We’ve all cast our ballots by mail anyways.

Last time an NDP’er came down our rural drive, I politely, and non-threateningly, asked them to get off my property. They did an about turn and haven’t been seen since. I had my rifle slung as I often do on our 30 acres.

That was a couple years ago now.
