Brand new Benelli M4 problems, any advice?

Hey guys,
So I got this new Benelli M4 and took it to the range only to have it jam almost constantly with target loads, yes I realize it's a combat shotgun so it's made for buckshot but that wasn't in stock. Is there any birdshot or target load that runs in this gun? Even better if it comes in bulk! Once again I realize it's not a trap gun so please no hate comments but any advice is very appreciated.

When I bought mine, I broke everything down and cleaned away the factory lube and re apply with Fireclean on all moving parts. Shot 1oz loads for about a hundred rounds and she should be good to go. I never had any jams or issues shooting different loads.

I totally agree! Field strip it and re-oil with your favourite brand! The only time my M4 didn't cycle was when I was testing 7/8oz Winchester Super Speed rounds as I wanted to see how light of load went thru and that was intentional. Mine especially loves the Federal Buckshot that comes in a steel can hehehe.

This exactly!! I once purchased a used Browning Gold Golden Clays at a deeply discounted price on the EE a few years back because it jammed continuously. When it arrived none to my surprise all the metal parts were still covered in the packing grease and the carbon from shooting mixed in that on the mag tube and piston? Well no wonder it didn't function. I stripped it clean and relubed it with Rem Oil and it never once skipped a beat.

I'm using g96 is frog lube no good I just bough an entire bottle...

Nothing wrong with frog lube. Do not use axle grease. Well, you can, but the pistons get super gunked up. I ran axle grease for lube in my versamax (same gas action as your M4) and I had one hickup; which is pretty good all things considered.

The Versamax is the same action as the M4. Benelli's patent ran out on the M4's action, and remington took the design and made the versamax. Benelli has the inertia shotgun line and a gas action line. The M4 is gas, while the M2 (and Super Black Eagle I and II, and others) are inertia.
