Been waiting since February to get the 336 in curly maple.I figured it came out in 2019 so the newer Marlins got their problems solved.Cycles smooth, fit and finish is great, wood is fantastic then I shoulder the rifle and WTF!The front sight is leaning to the right, ever so slightly, but I noticed it right away. Now what?Send it back to Marlin, who is in the middle of bankruptcy with Remington,or live with it?I'm afraid I'll never see it again the way distribution is right now.Anybody else go down this road with their Marlin and how did you fix it?Will the accuracy be that screwed up?

Does the rear sight lean the same? If they are not level with one another you have a bigger problem than simply indexing (tightening) the barrel slightly.

My 1894 was the same. Canted right out of the box. Gravel fixed it, but it took over a month to even get an RA, and about 6 weeks after I shipped it to get it back. I'm glad they took care of it, but it took a bit of time and was far from being a painless process.

Sorry to hear this OP, Gravel will get it fixed up for you

Guess this guy is still working in QC..... he’s been there for years now.

Is it the sight itself or are the holes drilled off centre? An easy solution could be to upgrade the sights as long as the holes aren't screwed up. Get some ghost rings on there!

Should always go with a "JM" Marlin. Can't go wrong! Also go up in value... Return and get a refund! Buy a "JM" off a fellow CGN!

Ol’ Slanty Canty worked there in the JM days too.

I haven’t seen one pre 70’s with canted sights, post 70’s I’ve had several pass through my hands.

Yup GMC has had many marlins so have I. Iv run into issues from the 70s to present. Look them over before you buy. And no JM models arn't going up in value at any rate that's calculatable. there was a jump a few years ago when REM took over But no used JM is going for a 1000$ like the REMs inless its a rare model like my 444 xlr

If you send it in to Gravel it’s probably not going to be a quick turn around. I sent a marlin to them and because they had a replacement in stock I thought it would be quick. It has now been five weeks since they have received the rifle and they can’t give me an estimate on when they’re sending the new one.

There is so much fail with new guns today.

I just wrote a post on this very thing. I took a new rifle on trade....then I sold it.....and the buyer was pissed because it had a canted site and rough machining. WTF i'm responsible for ####ty manufacturing now ??

Actually, there are alot of JM Marlin's going for over $1,000.. 1973, 1894 .44 mag Sporter, a 1939, .410 dinner gun.. 336, in .356 .. shall I go on.. lol.. I'm sure there are some JM's that had some bad sights, but not many..
