It is certainly not IPSC bashing...........

It is not Vince bashing...

It is an oddity......

It is a mystery.

It is not WHO wrote the leter.......

It is DOES THIS PERSON EVEN EXIST!!

There is a huge difference.

If the letter had been signed "Robert, Canada" then I would not have given it a second thought.

But the detail given and the facts of the case made me wonder just what was going on.

Can you explain what has happned here? I have put forth a few possible explanations and none of them sinister. Well except the eveil people trying to take over the world of course.

Can you give a plausible explaination?

If so please provide it.

Oh and the magazine looks pretty good..........which is more reason why anything untoward would not be required to shore it up. Which is why there is likely a reasonable explaination. It just seems that we are incapable of finding it at this time.
Oh and fair warning..........Personal attacks are frowned upon. But at least we only infract for REAL ones.

Facts of the case? There's a case? It is a Federal case or just an Ontario case? Did you call the RCMP and Interpol?? Will there be subpoenas? Do I need an attorney?

We? YOU started this becoz you want to make a big fuss about something so petty and trivial. If it was so important to "investigate", you could ask IPSC.

Personal attacks? What do you call casting the first stone and insinuating that Vinny/IPSC published a fake letter?

We are all just curious who this person from Canada is that wrote the letter......is that so hard to believe? Although Canada is a pretty big place, it would be easy to lose someone here......I am sure they will turn up, or there will be, as Stormbringer pointed out, a perfectly logical explanation.

And maybe it should be a case......maybe this person, if in fact they do exist, has been abducted or some such thing.......maybe we should file a Police report! If they shoot IPSC, they must own firearms, and that should be a concern....I mean what would happen if their firearms were now out on the street.......that wouldn't be good optics for IPSC now would it? So many questions and different scenarios.....it truly is a mystery!

I started it because I did not KNOW.

If I had wanted to make a big deal I would have made accustations. If you look at my original post I was trying to find out information that I lacked (Ie other Brantfords)

Ummmmm that might be possible for you......however of late threads that I start tend to be locked at GV for being "argumentative" and or "critical". Again I figured that there was indeed another Brantford and my question would be answered in no time and things would move on.

Others disagree and say that it is a fake letter..........

The problem being that every explaination I come up with is quickly shot with holes.

Stealing someone identity is not petty, using false name is not petty ...
If you start with a big project like this magazine, you should know that people who will read it will investigate and pay attention to every detail.
Maybe this letter wasn't fake, but maybe it was, so far we know that such person is not IPSC member of Ontario.

So why do you go there? Why not boycott the GV and make them miss out on your priceless and insightful comments? Why not invite them all to come here to see which board is more useful? Why doesn't IPSC Canada have an official board?

Going there and expecting things to be run your way is never going to work.

No, becoz I don't care about the identity of who wrote a letter. Do you also expect them to give you evidence the other letters were actually sent by the people? Why don't you have the courage to raise this isue at the GV?

BTW, did you notice one of the mods at the GV is from Brantford, ON. Maybe you should ask him for proof of address!

My deduction is it's a bulls&&t otherwise why would he be so much on the defense, since we are not American perhaps we should the CSIS to find this individual ;)

All the names on those list come up easily when you google with IPSC at the end, so Robert simply doesn't shoot IPSC but he's very close to the top w:h: this is as close to CSI that I will ever get......I knew they was a reason to watch all those show :wave:

As someone who doesn't shoot IPSC (maybe at a later date...) I'll add in my 2 cents.
At NO time did I read anything about Stormy bashing Vinnie/IPSC of anything.

It was PH Racing in Post #18 who brought it up as being a fake latter. I read the letter and wondered how they could write about the first issue like that as well. Not once did Stormy accuse Vinnie/IPSC of faking the letter (even in post #25 he stated he hopes it wasn't fake).

Fast forward to Post #40, and pokpok instantly accuses Stormy for instigating a bashing IPSC/Vinnie thread because he asked about who wrote a letter in an IPSC magazine.

If anything I read that Pokpok has an issue with Stormy. Maybe you don't care who the person is who wrote the letter and that is your choice/personal belief. Considering how close a group the local IPSC guys are, it doesn't surprise me at all that Stormy thought he might know the guy and ask. Brantford is roughly an hour away from Stormy, so odds are that the letter writer would attend EESA's IPSC matches.

The only one that comes off as being insulting and petty is you Mr. Pokpok.

If you want to make it interesting thread about the magazine...

Why on the back cover of an IPSC magazine, does the 5.11 advertisement state we support IPSC and yet the image is of IDPA? (You would think they have an IPSC image someplace....)

I don't know Mr. Stormbringer but he started this thread and I think it was petty to do so for the reason he did, that's all, but as soon as I say something, the usual people rush to his defense and jump all over me as if I did something wrong.

Why is it that hardly a week can't pass without something negative being written about Vinny or IPSC? I know it's cold in Canada, but it's frigid in here.

I have no idea about the back cover but I guess the ad was supplied by 5.11 and that's all they had. I don't think IPSC or any other publisher makes the ads; they just stick them in the mag.

This is the reason you just don’t know him and some of us are just helping you out.
As per how great this magazine is, or will be, {makes no difference who is commenting on it} to me looks a bit premature when no one had seen what will be on it.
