Brass .410 hulls

I bought a box of 25 rounds thinking that I would reload but never did. Can’t remember who I bought them from. I know they weren’t cheap I think around $75 by the time it got to me.

There are people out there fireforming 303 British into 410 shells. Haven't done it myself, but have seen videos/pictures online about it

I've done that and it's a lot more trouble than it's worth, it takes several fireforming loads and the 303 cases are shorter than 410. 9.3x74R cases are the thing to use but they're more expensive than brass 410 hulls if you can find them.
 
I tried the 9.3 x 74, followed a redneck on YouTube, they didn't form properly at all, tried 25 of my 50, if anyone else wants to try I'll sell, think they were 75.00 for the 50.

I've tried with 303, and the results were less than stellar...only 1/2 to 3/4 of the case blew out at best, leaving me with some funky looking cases. They worked, but ugly as sin.
 
I have some .444 Marlin cases loaded,but haven’t fired them yet. I intend to shoot them out of one of my Lee Enfield “musket” single shot. I also have a box of .410 brass that I haven’t used.

**Edit - They only work in my 3" chambered "musket", not in the regular blown out .303 chambered one.

Approximately $30.00 a box for 410 after tax, that's for win AA or challenger, but I've bought last couple boxes in my town, ordered 4 chalenger online, think they were $23.99 per, but with shipping took it up to about the 30 mark. As of right now you'd have a hard time finding any 410s. I bought 3-400 empty 3" shells from a guy on here, so i should be good.

Yeah did that too, I even put a small load of lead pellets to increase the pressure to fireform but it was only negligibly better. I also had to file the 303 case heads thinner so my shotgun would close on the rim. Buy factory 410 brass, that's my recommendation unless you really don't have anything better to do.

Same here, and same results. For the cost of primers, anything more than 1 fireform and perfection is a waste.

but just in case you decide to try again, anneal the heck out of the case
the pressures are so low that it doesn't matter

Thanks for reminding me about 444 cases, might have to put a feeler out in the local area to barter up a handful of them.

If you're truly bored or creative, you can use 308 brass for mini 2" cases. Of course, you need to get that whole "don't got a rim here" problem figured out;););). That's the guy ladies want in the apocalypse.:d
