Brass Bead size for Cooey 28 ga shotgun

I picked up a Cooey 840 Single Shot 28 ga today but the brass bead sight is gone. Does anyone know the size and thread that I need?

Just make sure the bead does not extend into the bore. I bought a 28 gauge Cooey sometime back where the barrel was cracked from the bead hole to the muzzle. I showed it to a gunsmith and a couple of other fellows and they all figured that someone installed a new bead and it was too long.

I'm in agreement with Struff55, should be 3-56 tpi. Another common size is 6-48.

Those two seem to be the common ones for sure. I will borrow a set of digital calipers from work to make sure I get the right shank length.

They are normally trimmed once they're installed.
