So I will be needing to replenish some of my brass supply for .223...just wondering what the best way to go is ???? New brass???? Or one time fired??? Obviously I want to stick to same brand/mfg'er not mixed head stamp.

Any opinions or advantages buying new vs 1x fired? Other than Obvious the price advantage.

Note: I shoot mainly for hunting a bit of bench testing and plinking. This is not for competition or match shooting. In saying that I have noticed, quality components add to accuracy and quality of ammo I can produce.

And in some cases, you have no way of knowing if the cases are once fired. As well, if they are fired in a very large chamber, and your rifle has a minimum spec chamber, they may not even chamber in your rifle after being run through your FL die.

For your type of shooting, once fired brass is just fine. Just full length size and you're good to go. If you want to shoot from the bench and go for small groups, just select by head stamp and then by weight. I only use range pick up .223 cases and have thousands by now. For precision shooting, I match prep my cases by weight selection, de-burring the inside flash hole, uniforming the primer pocket, trimming the OAL, polishing the inside of the necks and annealing.

I load for three AR15s and a bolt action Savage .223 and buy once fired military 5.56 brass. Military 5.56 brass is made of harder brass and stronger in the base.
