brass cartridges? how are they made?

whats the process that an ammo factory uses to make the brass? maybe a dumb question, but ive always wanted to know.

simplest explanation
a brass disc is pressed into a cup shape repeatedly till the right dementions are reached,then necked down if needed

Was on a factory tour this winter its realy quite interesting

so the brass disc pusheds it into a cylinder tube, then that tube is run through a die to form the shoulder and neck?

does that first step also make the rim or belt of the cartridge?

There are several steps involved
After the first step I remember the brass looked like little shot glasses
I don't remember how many steps till the base was formed but it was done by forcing the brass into a mold
The brass we saw produced was a 223 and the pressure made the brass quite hot when it came out of the press
It was an over whelming amount of information to remember in a couple of hours

I don't know if they normally give tours

We were part of a IPSC group there for a month and got all our ammo for them
