brass cleaner recipes

I was reading recipies for the ultrasonic method and it seems that vineger and water is the main recipe used then nutralizie it with a baking soda/water mix. If the benchrest guys are doing it ,it must work
 
That sounds good - I'll maybe have to try the baking soda trick. Then a good wash to get rid of traces of the soda maybe? I do know that the vinegar cleaned the cases up for me a lot better than the more expensive Lyman Turbo Case Cleaner liquid. And cheap like borscht.
 
I tried the RCBS Liquid cleaner in my Lyman Duo last night. It does a great job of getting the brass REALLY shiny, but the acid smell is rather unpleasant if you get your nose right over it.

It also had a huge clump of "goo" floating on the water when I did my first load of brass. The second load had a lower amount of the case cleaner liquid in it and did not leave the "goo".
