Brass Drying

I have a homemade tumbler with SS media that does about 2000 pistol cases at once.......when tumbling is done they get rinsed and then into the media separator to remove SS pins and excess water.......Then onto old beach blankets in the basement for God to do his bit.....used to use a food dehydrator but putting them onto a towel is just easier. The next day they are dry.
I had several blankets layed out one day ,my son in law and 3 year old came over for a visit and had to go downstairs for something. My grandson was off in his own world but when he turned the corner and saw all the glistening brass he yelled out "TREASURE" and started scooping it all up.....the look on his face was priceless and me and my Son in law laugh to this day about it.

I just lay them on a towel. Tumble them back and forth a few times and turn a fan on them for a bit. Dump them on another dry towel and repeat. I'm not in a big rush to fill them up again. lol

HA

Got a shoe rack for your clothes dryer? Spread a towel over the shoe rack, spread the brass over the towel and dry for 20 minutes.

They are for newer front load dryers.
My Kenmore branded Samsung has one.

Another vote for the furnace vent here: I use a wire basket that was for French fries, stir them up on the vent nearest the furnace. It really blasts out the hot air.

By the time the air turns cool as the heating cycle ends, they're bone dry.

I just lay them out on a towel for a couple of days. Big batches here too. If you can’t wait a couple of days, you need more brass!!
It dries faster with no primers.

I bought the Hornady case dryer for $60. Works good, takes about 20 min. Probobly the next person will call me out for spending $60 and tell me it can be done cheaper etc. But $60 is nothing in this game.

I spread mine out on cookie sheets and put in oven on 180-200 degrees for 30-40 min. I prop the oven door a tiny bit to release moisture. Works perfect for me. No extra unneeded equipment taking up space and can do hundreds of casings at a time. Nothing says lovin' like fresh baked brass from the oven ;)
