a little while back i thought id help a member out and make him some dummy rounds out of fired brass i had and some bullets. no powder or primer, he was looking for something to teach his friends how to load the gun with and i offered to help him out. hes using 30-06 ammo just like me, so i FL sized the cases cleaned them up and loaded a bullet and checked them in my r700 and they all loaded and were within the oal of the book. i sent them out and the guy is saying they wont load in to his gun. at first i thought it was a length issue but they were all checked for case length and none had an issue going in to my gun. im waiting to hear back from him again, but i asked him to give it a little pressure and to check the neck for markings just to see if they were too long and he said nothing came up, but if he tried forcing them in then theyd start fitting a little better. the only thing i can think of with these is that they are fired from my gun and maybe my chamber is just a hair larger than his and these are formed to fit my gun. would that make any sense? he said that hes putting them in to his m1, i told him id throw a post up here and if nothing else to send me his brass and id make him some new pieces using his once fired brass.
