Hi all i have a small issue with my brass and would like to know what i messed up to avoid future problems!
i am reloading ones fired .308 winchester brass and as suggested only neck sized it for sec. load, but now i am not able to seed the bullet the neck is way to loose and the bullet just slights in way bellow OAL. any idea on what i did wrong?

And am i able to salvage the 50 pre primed rounds?

Sounds like you did not resize the neck. Colour the outside of the neck with a magic marker and keep lowering the die until you are almost to the shoulder, the magic marger will get scratched off by the die as you keep setting the die lower. You should be able to raise the deprimer/expander enough so it doesn't touch your new primers.

PS-My advise above assumes you are using a full length die to neck size. If it is a dedicated neck sizing die they have other instructions for use as noted below.

This^^.

What brand of neck sizing die are you using? If it is a Lee, it is a collett die and needs to be screwed in enough to squish the neck against the decapping pin/mandrel. Make sure that the inner sleeve is moving freely as well.
 
Stupid question but are you using a dedicated neck sizing die? If so, you probably did not setup the die properly. Keep in mind, you DO NOT need a whole lot of force to resize a case neck. There have been instances where some reloaders did not follow/read the instructions and was using so much force, they broke the dies.

Thanks for the tip i will use the marker and follow your suggestions! i am not sure if i am able to raise the deprimer it is one solid pin in the lee neck sizing die! am i able to resizes the brass without the pin ?
 
For the Lee Collect Neck Sizing die:

- Run the ram all the way to the top.
- Screw the die down until it touches the shell plate.
- Lower the ram and give the die one full turn then lock down the die.
- Run a case in the die to size the neck using firm pressure. You don't need a whole lot of force. If your knuckles are turning white and you have to to grunt to do so, you're using too much force.
- Check the tightness by trying to seat the bullet into the neck by hand.
- If the bullet is still loose, give the die another 1/4 to 1/2 turn checking until you get the desired tension ie bullet can't slip into the case.

Thanks I am not able to raise the pin since my die has an inclosed screw on cap on top the pin sits in one position only i just removed the pin completely and sized the neck doing minor adjustments along the way and it worked !!

Also Lee forgets to mention need for frequent disassembly and clean-up of the collet die -dirt tends to accumulate on the mandrell and whole work is wasted.
