Not sure if this belongs here, but wanted to provide a quick review on a new pistol mag reloader I recently picked up

h-t-t-p://tgrenterprises.com/brassstacker/

Highlights

- rock solid
- smooth as silk
- simple to use
- one of the best piece of gear ever purchased
- perfect for mags with grip extensions

Got mine from Glockparts dot com for $40

S&W 22A is easy. I go through 50 mag reloads on each range day. You could probably make a little block that holds the pin down at the bottom while you happily drop in 10 rounds.

Don't get me wrong, it looks like a nice unit.
Unfortunately, it looks like you need different models to load different mags. Being all metal isn't a selling point to me. Versatility is. Too many moving parts (rollers, rams.....dirt collectors). It also looks a bit on the bulky side (IMHO). I'll stick with my Uplula and load every mag I have with the one tool.

(E)

ya, but this one's made of BILLET ALUMINUM, and it's POLISHED!!! now your rounds will go faster, more accurately, and show less recoil!

I polished the 'feedramp' on my Uplula. :D Not that it wasn't great as-is, I just like all things polished. But I must admit that polishing my reloading dies was a stupid idea: they are carbide, you see...

Anyway, with Uplula, I don't know why people reinvent things.

You make some good points, but then I was looking for something specific

- I didn't want one that required me to press the mag on a bench because I have grip extensions on my mags. The stacker allows you to depress the spring with one hand held at whatever height you want. Also, we shoot at a side range to our main one and counter space is limited.
- I didn't want plastic. I have one the HKS ones and found the arm flexed near the final few rounds.
- I wanted one that was solidly built. This thing will outlive me.
- I wanted one that allowed me to insert the round easily. The arm on the stacker swings away and recesses as the round enters - no need to seat the round after partial insertion.
- I also think it has the same universal functionality as the UpLULA meaning a similar double stacked mag would likely work. Next time I am at the range with my buddies I'll try it with some other pistols.
- Yeah, it may collect dirt, but anything will - who gives a sh*t.

It is not all things to all people, but I like it of all the loaders I have used.

I'll stick with my Uplula too, it works for all my 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP magazines in all my pistols regardless of make. It is s neat idea but it would suck buying one for each pistol in each caliber I own.

i just use my fingers - they're surprisingly compatible with a broad range of magazines, from thin 22LR stuff to double-stack .40S&W to 6-hole speedloaders. they don't rust either, and i've yet to misplace them anywhere and have to search for them when at the range. didn't cost me too much to get them either!

only trouble is that when you sell your guns, ya kinda end up keeping the "loaders", so at that point you need to find another use for them....... i dunno... ask your wife?

If your fingers work great you either have freakishly tough fingers or you don't shoot enough.:p;)

500 rounds of 22 each day i go shoot, and i carry all my mags (22, 40, 45) pre-loaded so that i spend more time shooting while at the range. it helps to have more mags! mind you, for an IDPA practice day (.40), i could have used another 5-10 pre-loaded mags. loading isn't difficult, it's just time-consuming (and thus a spectacular waste of time). i actually find it easier - and maybe faster - to load my Glock mags manually than with the supplied plastic loader thingy.

i get more scratches on my thumb from the revolver's hammer than i get "wear-n-tear" from loading ammo into mags.

I have used an Uplula and hate to tell you, but this thing is easier to use because you don't need a bench to press against. Just my opinion, but it is based on trying both (as well as a few others).

And sell your guns? What is that? Have never done that, can't see me ever doing that. :)

Who said you have to press the Uplula against a bench? It works just as well pressed against your leg, torso or any part of your body you can reach with the ammo loading hand.

So you are just substituting a body part for the function of the bench. I mentioned in an earlier post I was looking for something that could perform the function of this style of reloaders without the need for a bench (or anything providing back pressure). The stacker does not have this requirement.

Hey, I could care less what you guys use. I only offered this as an option for someone who is looking for this style of loading. I do stand by my opinion having used both.

well, i'll say that it's NICE but it reeks of Harley-Davidson where it's all gotta be billet this, polished that, heavy and thick everywhere. doesn't seem to offer any levered or geared assist to push down the follower - i suppose if it did, it would be mucho moro interestingo.

I'd like to handle one. But don't see any mechanical advantage for people with weak hands. The Uplula at least let's you use your whole arm to compress. This one could probably work off a beach too though.
