Brass Stuck in Shellholder - Grrr

sounds like your having fun :)

I had a problem with a few primers bending and flexing but not comming out. This was IVI milspec 308, a few took a lot of special attention.

The crimp is a circular crimp not like the hirtzenberger 3 point crimps. Makes getting the primers out a real bugger.

I use a Lee universal deprimer and then tumble the brass before sizing and trimming.

Burr Up!

I had one set of lee dies do that.
Fix is easy. Take the decapping pin out, and burr it up where the collet grips it. (Mine has vise grips marks on it now)You will have a bit of difficulty getting it set, but once it is, no more hassles.
Thank you! Your suggestion seems to have done the trick...for now...I have also noticed that the Federal .308 is a lot easier to deprime than the Igman stuff...live and learn, I guess.

My latest trick with the %*$#@*&ing rifle loading is for the "shoulder" of the brass to be slightly bulged, preventing full chambering. Also on a few rounds the actual cast bullet has slid part way down into the neck. I swear, I'm going to stick to handgun loading in the future!

Too much crimp, back your seating die out a bit

I have a set of LEE.270 dies that I broke the decapping pin. How does one go about fixing that.Send it back to Lee???? Or can one be made by a machinist and replaced . Don't even remember how I broke it as it was over 10 yrs ago.
